The New Zealand office was established in 2001, primarily as a rugby management business focused on player management, sponsorship and consultancy. The office has since expanded into cricket and enhanced the sponsorship, sales, events and entertainment arms of the business.
The rugby player management division is a market leader both domestically and globally, with offices in all major rugby markets. The NZ rugby management division represents players at all levels of professional rugby, offering an added-value service and has represented over 50% of the All Blacks for the past five years, as well as 80% of the professional coaches in NZ.
The cricket division has grown in the last two years, with the increase in player movement and the support from the global cricket operation. Essentially also represents athletes outside rugby and cricket on a case-by-case basis. Essentially player management services include: contract negotiations, global placement, sponsorship and management services.
Essentially’s focus on rugby and cricket has enabled the NZ office to secure some of the best sponsorship properties in NZ, including being the exclusive international agent for the likes of the All Blacks, the Blackcaps and the NZ representative for SANZAR.
Essentially has grown the events side of the business with a rugby and cricket focus but is also agent for the Red Bull Air Race in NZ and represents a number of organizations for the management of sporting events in NZ and abroad. |
